Beautiful Armani Lanae - Pink and Blue at Sacramento River

I have to say I feel these are the best edited shots because I edited them more recently when I have better software and more editing knowledge.  But again, due to my inexperience and camera/lighting issues, I really didn't do Armani justice.  She's a great model and a lot of fun to work with.

And here she is, pretty in pink.  I wanted to make these look ethereal as Armani posed so soft and beautiful.

Even an ethereal princess on a pedestal can be tough too!  lol

I love black and white photos that are tinged in color.  

After the clothing change, we took a few shots at the flowers before walking to the end of the park near the bridge.  

I - yes I will take credit for this - found an awesome tree right on the bank that was a tiny bit difficult to get to.  But we all made the trek down the semi-steep bank and were rewarded with a completely different feel to these last photos. 

This next one is intentionally blurry (I'm not going to lie, it was already slightly blurry but then I made it blurrier).  I've seen some photos that are completely blurry and the effect is really kind of cool.  I don't know if this one completely works, but I do like it still.  I need to study on this more. 

These last ones are some of my favorites.  I'm sure you can see why.  

Armani is such a joy to work with and I would definitely recommend her to any photographers or event coordinators.

I'm just going to jump right in.  

I don't know why there are three edits of that shot above, but there ya go.  lol 

I loved shooting through the flowers to get the depth of field.  What are a few scratches in the name of art?

Outfit Change! Model Shoot - Armani Lanae Pretty in Pink

After a quick outfit change, we were back in business. 

But while the other photogs were deciding the next location in the park, Armani and took a few more photos before she changed her shoes because I loved the look of the sweet, feminine dress/headband paired with the skater Vans she had on. 

Then we moved to a different place and Armani put on shoes (I still prefer the Vans) and a ruffled over-skirt and off we went again.  The lighting was even trickier for me because the sun was almost directly overhead and there were so many shadows being cast.   It also made my very temperamental D3300 not want to focus.  Like, at all. 

But we persevered and had fun as well!

Behind the scenes with two of the three co-photogs (3rd was stylist/photog Jana) Pedro and Kirk with all the equipment I really need to learn about and then buy if I want to keep doing this model stuff.  haha

We used the reflector for shade and took turns holding it, but Pedro and Jana/Kirk were also using lighting/flash which I wasn't so I was still having some issues.  But Armani is just so gorgeous that I had to keep and share these photos.  I'll use them as inspiration to get better.

Next we ditched the shoes and added a fun, red umbrella which I loved.  Stay tuned!

Model Shoot - Armani - River Walk West Sacramento, California

I did a lot of shoots last year and took a lot of photos and, as I think I've previously mentioned, I'm trying to get most of my shoots from 2018 up on the blog.  I'm also trying to kind of alternate travel/nature posts with model shoots.  I was so blessed to shoot such a diverse group of marvelous women throughout the year!

So it's time for another model shoot. This one features the amazingly beautiful and incredibly fun to work with, Armani Lanae.  This shoot was a "mini" shoot, meaning one model and 3-4 photographers, and took place along the beautiful River Walk in West Sacramento.  

I have to mention that I've been working on editing and really wanted to put my own "spin" on my art.  So, although I try not to Photoshop away "imperfections" there is Photoshop involved.  Also, due to the fact that I mainly shoot with ambient light, I do have to use Lightroom and/or Photoshop to bring out the model to my taste.

To be honest, I'm not super happy with these.  I don't feel like I did Armani justice and the editing leaves something to be desired (I did these quite a while ago).  I may even go back and start over on a few now that I know a little bit more.  

But experience is learning so I'm happy and hope you enjoyed.  This is the first in several clothing and location changes, so look forward to the rest please!
